The National Phlebotomy Provider Network has been recommended as a Covid-safe phlebotomist and phlebotomy provider, as well as lab specimen pickup and delivery service. Here’s why the National Phlebotomy Provider Network has been recommended: Having a phlebotomist come to you, assuming that they will do your blood draw outdoors (many will) and that you are both masked, is always going to be safer than going indoors into lab, especially if they are not enforcing masking and other Covid-safe policies at the lab. Also the National Phlebotomy Provider Network collects all sorts of lab specimens on a mobile basis, not just blood; they will also come to your house to pick up stool and urine samples and take them to the lab of your choice, all you need is your doctor’s lab order.
Snug Safe has been recommended as a Covid-safe provider of free daily check-in services throughout the U.S. and Canada. The person who recommended Snug Safe says “Snug Safe is an incredible free service that, through an app on your iPhone or Android phone, checks in with you at least once a day. And if you don’t respond, the system will send a text message to each of your designated emergency contacts. And that’s just what the free version does! The free version is available and works all throughout the entire United States and Canada.”
Notarize online notary services has been recommended as a Covid-safe way to get a document notarized, and Notarize as a Covid-safe notary public and provider of notary services. There are 41 states that now allow you to have something notarized online, as well as does the District of Columbia (a/k/a Washington D.C.). Those states are Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
Nextera Healthcare is a direct primary care provider with a presence in many states including Colorado, Florida, Virginia, Nebraska, Iowa, Michigan, and many more. The person who recommended them explains that “Nextera is a “direct primary care” healthcare provider (although they used to call themselves a “concierge healthcare provider”) with operations in many different states. As they explain, “Direct primary care is a healthcare model in which family medicine physicians provide complete primary care services for a set monthly, quarterly, or annual fee. It is a fresh alternative to traditional healthcare plans.”
Amazon Pharmacy has been recommended as a Covid-safe provider of pharmacy and prescription delivery services. Here’s why Amazon Pharmacy was recommended: “For some reason I was put off by the idea of Amazon pharmacy; I can’t really say why other than..Amazon. However when my local pharmacy switched prescription delivery services, and the new service required an in-person signature (defeating the whole purpose of not getting within virus distance of strangers), I suddenly realized that Amazon delivers to me regularly anyways, and they put the deliveries out in the garage so they can be quarantined, so why not have them do the same thing with prescriptions?
Dispatch Health Mobile Urgent Care has been recommended as a Covid-safe provider of urgent health care services. Here’s what the recommender says: “Dispatch Health is a mobile urgent care service with coverage throughout the United States; it is basically like a house-call doctor only it’s specifically urgent care. I have not yet needed to use Dispatch Health, and generally they show up and will expect to come into your house, but I would absolutely call them and ask them if they could see me outdoors before I would go to any of the non-masking non-keeping-it-safe urgent cares around this area!”
1-800-BATTERY has been recommended as a Covid-safe provider of automobile battery replacement services. Recommender says: “I was compiling a list of all of the various mobile services out there, and a friend added ‘Don’t forget about 1-800-BATTERY!’ I had indeed forgotten about 1-800-BATTERY! And I’m so glad that they reminded me, because not a week later I needed to have the battery replaced in my car!
If you need to have lab work done, and especially bloodwork, it can be much safer having a mobile phlebotomist come to you, especially if they will do the blood draw outside. (A “phlebotomist” is the medical turn for some who draws blood samples.) Travalab says that “We provide mobile phlebotomy services nationwide to patients within the comfort of their homes, offices, or health clinics. We are partnered with several speciality labs, research groups, and clinical trials teams. Our mission is to bridge phlebotomy needs with accessibility and convenience for all.”
Using a mobile veterinarian has been recommended as a Covid-safe way to have your dog, cat, or other pet seen by a veterinarian. The person recommending it says “We have been using a mobile veterinarian since just after Covid hit, and it is a godsend! They have a complete mobile exam room that they bring to you, including ultrasound and x-rays. You bring your pet out to them outside, hand them off, they bring your pet into the mobile exam room, and text you when they are done. Our own mobile veterinarian is very respectful of clients who are at high risk.”
