Covid-Safe Notary Public: Online Remote Public Notary Services with Notarize

Notarize online notary services has been recommended as a Covid-safe way to get a document notarized, and Notarize as a Covid-safe notary public and provider of notary services. There are 41 states that now allow you to have something notarized online, as well as does the District of Columbia (a/k/a Washington D.C.). Those states are Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

There are two remote online notary services that have a good reputation and are recognized by these states: Docusign, and Notarize. We have personally used Notarize a couple of times, and highly recommend it. Notarize has made it as easy as possible to use their service, and you can do it through either the Notarize app (here for iOS and here for Android) or from a web browser.

The way that it works is that you upload either an image or a PDF of your document, you verify your identification, and then you are connected with one of their licensed, credentialed notaries. The notary asks you a couple of questions, then ads their notary language and stamp to your document, and that’s it, you’re done, other than paying. And paying is pretty easy too and very reasonable; just $25 for the first stamp (seal) and $10 for each additional seal if you need more than one.
