The CDC offers a free online tool to determine your home ventilation or office ventilation needs (such as how many air purifiers do you need, how much air do they need to move, etc.) in order to keep your indoor areas safe and as free of concentrated Covid evil (nod to the Time Bandits) as possible.
Now, we are by no means fans of the CDC, we think that they handled this whole thing deplorably, and are doing so still (in fact see here for How to Write to Your Representatives, the CDC, the AMA and Others Demanding Protection from Covid in 1 Easy Step), but once in a while they stumble into getting something right. And we put offering this online “determine your ventilation needs” tool in that category.
As the CDC explains in their offering, “Small particles that people breathe out can contain virus particles, including the virus that causes COVID-19. If a guest visits your home, improving ventilation (air flow) can help prevent virus particles from accumulating in the air. Good ventilation, along with other preventive actions, like staying 6 feet apart and correctly wearing masks, can help prevent you from getting and spreading COVID-19.”
Ah, if only they would communicate that last sentence more emphatically, instead of the one-step-forward-three-step-back dance that they do.
Anyways, you can use the target=”_blank”>free online tool to determine your ventilation needs here.
