The Brow Bitch Wax, Shaping, and Makeup Studio has submitted themselves as a Covid-safe provider of waxing, shaping, and makeup services in Seattle, Washington. Here’s how Lindy, who runs Brow Bitch, describes their Covid safety precautions.
“Covid-conscious brow business. Still requiring effective masks and up-to-date vaccination. A Cleanforce Mega 1000 portable HEPA filter running at level 3 provides 760m3/hr (450CFM) resulting in 15 air changes per hour for the 50m3 space (the WHO recommended minimum is 6 air changes per hour). This is supplemented by an Airthereal AGH550 portable HEPA filter running on auto.”
In addition, on the Brow Bitch site it says:
“No vac, no wax”, and “I am fully vaccinated. Starting July 1st, 2021 my business will be a COVID-vaccinated only business. I put a lot of careful thought into this and consulted with many, but ultimately I want my workspace to be as safe as possible for me. I am 3-6 inches away from peoples faces all day long and the anxiety of covid is too threatening to my livelihood. No proof of vaccination means I will not go forward with performing your service. Please show proof via text or in person. And since we’ll all be vaccinated we can all go mask-less if we desire.
Lindy wants everyone to know that while on her site it does say “And since we’ll all be vaccinated we can all go mask-less if we desire,” that is not the policy, she just hasn’t been able to get her website designer to remove it! In fact, says Lindy, “I wear a 3M Aura at all times and never take it off in my studio. If someone walks in wearing a surgical mask, I give them a kN95 or N95,” adding that “My studio gets close to 20 ACH. I keep the window open and I have 2 huge HEPA air purifiers running at top speed. I’m up-to-date on boosters and everyone has to be as well. I send a text to my clients to give them my policies in advance since my website isn’t 100% up-to-date.”
