“I am a LCSW seeing clients in private practice for psychotherapy (IFS, somatic/gestalt, and EMDR) in Center City, Philadelphia PA.

Here are the precautions I take

–I test at least once a week using Altruan Pluslife home tests.
–I mask w/ well fitted KN99, KF94 or KN95 in indoor spaces, only unmasked with my pod who follows similar precautions
–I use nasal sprays before and after public transit and during mid day with clients in the office
–I keep up to date on what’s going on with COVID thru various channels (that aren’t trying to minimize the impact of covid…)
–I see clients in office, but also virtually, so clients and myself agree to let each other know about exposures, any symptoms, etc so we can switch to virtual any time on anyone’s request
–I am updated on all vaccines and ask that clients do not come to the office unless they are updated on Covid vaccination
–For in-office sessions I wear KN95 or KF94 or KN99 and I have a selection of these masks for clients to use. I require clients to mask in in-person sessions. I have had clients who struggle with not seeing my facial cues due to the mask, so I would like to obtain some clear window respirators too
–I have an air purifier in my office that completes 6 air exchanges per hour
–I offer hand sanitizer and use fidget toys that can easily be sanitized
–I open discussion about these practices in the beginning of our work to support clients with exploring their feelings while maintaining my boundaries around safety in the office and also welcome discussion of this at any time, which supports therapeutic work
–Unfortunately the waiting room/other therapists in the office do not follow these precautions but usually with good timing clients do not need to spend time in the waiting room and could hang out in other unpopulated areas of the building if needed.”
