“I just had my mobile optometry appointment outside on my deck (had to have an eye exam completed within a year of updating my drivers license – which we’re allowed to do online in Colorado now – so I wanted to find a way to avoid both the DMV and an indoor, non-ventilated optometrist’s office).

The appointment went incredibly well and I wanted to give a huge recommendation for the mobile optometrist I found. He was absolutely phenomenal on multiple levels. Not only did he show up in an N95 mask (an N95! Not a surgical mask, not a cloth mask, I’m talkin’ a legitimate, N95 mask!!) but he was also so overwhelmingly kind and respectful of my boundaries the entire appointment (and all the way leading up to it, as well)! He was so incredibly respectful, he was kind, and I felt incredibly comfortable during the entire appointment.

I was *so* nervous before the appointment just because, on top of having to deal with the risk of possible contagion, I live alone in a rural area and having a stranger over to my house isn’t necessarily the most comfortable situation in the world. All that said, this optometrist helped me to feel more comfortable than I’ve felt during the vast majority of the pandemic by just being kind, respectful of boundaries, and by following the science. I actually had fun at this appointment! The appointment went by relatively quickly and I now have a new prescription, a clean bill of health regarding my eyes, and I won’t have to go to the dmv to update my drivers license!
