Covid-Safe Mammograms in Denver, Colorado: Women’s Imaging Center

The Women’s Imaging Center, Cherry Creek location, has been recommended as a Covid-safe and Covid-cautious provider of mammograms and other mammography services, and other imaging services, in Denver, Colorado. It’s important to note that this is just at their Cherry Creek location, as we will explain.

First, even though it doesn’t say so on the site, when you call in to make an appointment the recorded message that you hear at first tells you that they require masks. Now that in and of itself isn’t enough, but given that so few places are even requiring masks, it’s a start, and an indicator that they are still taking Covid at least a little seriously. But, says the person recommending their Cherry Creek location, here’s where it gets good.

“I had a mammogram at the Women’s Imaging Center, at their Cherry Creek location, in 2021. They were absolutely wonderful about accommodating my being at high risk for Covid. Once I told them just how high-risk I am, they allowed me to wait out in the car, and when they called me to come in for my mammogram – get this – instead of my having to go in the front door through the waiting room, they allowed me to come in the back, employee entrance and directly into the mammography room!”

They go on to say “Well, now (January 2023) I need to have another mammogram, and I called the Women’s Imaging Center. In the interim they had put in one of those virtual phone services (“Press 1 to schedule, press 2 for…” etc..), so I couldn’t speak with any of the actual locations, it’s all central scheduling, so I couldn’t ask if they could still accommodate me. I ended up leaving voicemail and somebody actually called me back and said that yes, they are happy to accommodate me, but it does have to be at the Cherry Creek location because that is the only location that is on the ground floor, and has that separate employee entrance in the back, through which they will be happy to let me in. And also to give me a first appointment of the day. Let me tell you, I had tears of relief!”

“But wait, there’s more! I asked the woman who had called me whether it was ok to let others know that they are willing to be so accommodating of people at high risk for Covid, or if they’d prefer I keep it quiet, and she said “Oh no, you can let people know. The doctor at the Cherry Creek location *wants* to help people and accommodate them so they can get their imaging done safely.” How awesome is that!?”

“Here’s what to do when scheduling your appointment: go to their website, and click on the button to schedule your appointment. Make sure that you schedule for the Denver Cherry Creek location. Then call them, press option #1 (scheduling) and let them know that you need accommodations for that appointment, and ask them if they could pretty please ask someone to call you back about that.”
