Rebecca Barry, MD, at Dermatology & Dermatologic Surgery Group of Northern Virginia, has been recommended as a Covid-safe dermatologist and provider of dermatology services in Vienna, Virginia. They also offer telehealth teledermatology services.
The person who recommended Dr. Barry notes that “Masking is required and enforced. All staff masked. When they take you back to the exam room, before you enter the they have a sink in the interior hallway where all patients must wash hands,” adding that “Dr. Barry is well masked (and she is also an excellent dermatologist).”
On Dr. Barry’s site she has a page dedicated to her Covid-19 response which says “To our patients, We are here for you in this uncertain time! Dr. Nims and Dr. Barry are available for telemedicine appointments (video consults) for many skin conditions for existing patients. Most insurances, including Medicare, are covering these visits during the COVID-19 outbreak to help patients stay home. We have an easy to use platform and you can be on your smartphone, tablet or desktop.” and also “For those with concerns or procedures that cannot be handled virtually, Dr. Nims, Dr. Barry and Dr. Redbord are in the office more limited hours. Patient safety and health have always been our top concern and we have increased our disinfecting procedures and changed patient procedures to minimize contact in accordance with current recommendations.”

This practice is apparently no longer Covid-safe. I just called and was told, although the employees there will be masked, they do not require patients to mask.
