“I wanted to recommend Colkmire Dentistry in Sarasota, Florida. The dentist is actually Dr. Paola Donaire.
Small office, all 4 employees wore masks the whole time (surgical, but seemed fairly fitted), they have air purifiers, they wipe everything down, and they let us bring and plug in our fairly large air purifier and put it next to the dental chair. They have a text system so you can wait in your car, which we used, and I think some other patients use it. They were extremely pleasant about all of our Covid precautions and were consistently kind and patient.
They have surgical masks available for patients but don’t require them. We only saw one other patient come in while we were there. He was not masked. He went back out to his car after talking with the receptionist a while.
My husband and I wore goggles and each had a Readimask over our nose, N95 over that when we first went in, then we each switched to a KN95 over the Readimask, so we could easily pull the KN95 on & off between steps. They were really nice about telling us when we could put the KN95 back on.
The dentist seems to be building the practice. They have openings, including first thing in the morning.
They only did x-rays and an exam today. We need to return for our cleanings (which they told me ahead of time) because it will take time to do a cleaning since it’s been so long since we had a cleaning (over 3 years). The exam + x-rays was $275 per person. They don’t take insurance, but they will submit for the patient for at least some insurance plans, including what we have (Cigna).”
