“I had an absolutely FANTASTIC experience with Bond Family Dental in Longmont this morning, May 31, 2024! It was my first dentist appointment since 2020; now I had something going on that I felt really needed to be looked at. I was very stressed. When I called to make the appointment they agreed to wear N95 masks (I offered to provide them), and they suggested that I come on a Friday because they say that is the slowest day as there is only one doctor in that day, rather than more than one. And they gave me the first appointment of the day.

I arrived for my first-of-the-day appointment with a Readimask nose-mask-hack on under my N95 Aura, and called to let them know I was there. They immediately offered “do you want to stay out in your car and we’ll call when we’re ready?” When they called me, I walked in and was amazed to see everyone other than the receptionist were already wearing KN95 masks! The tech brought me immediately to the exam room, and I was stunned to see an IQ Air unit right next to the chair!

I told the tech that once my Aura came off I would not be talking as I was concentrating on breathing through my masked nose, but I could nod ‘yes’ and ‘no’ and they were fine with it! She said “We just need to get an x-ray”. Then she had me open my mouth, put a little device in it, told me to bite on it, and a moment later the x-ray showed up on the computer screen next to me. “You can put your mask back on” she told me immediately. She then left, and the dentist came in also wearing a KN95. So I was only ever in that room with one person at a time. Next to the IQ Air. With them masked in their KN95 masks the entire time, and with my having my Aura off only briefly twice (once for the x-ray, and once for the dentist to actually look in my mouth which was also very quick).

The whole thing took less than a half-hour.

I had first contacted Bond Dental at the end of 2022 after reading their Covid protocols page, and writing to them to ask them if they were still following all of those protocols. Back then they responded with:

“Yes! We are still following all of the Covid protocols listed on our website. All of our clinical providers will be masked and our iso air filtration is still running. Our waiting room, front desk area, and patient bathroom are mask-optional,” but, they added that if you want to wait in your car “we would be happy to call and text you at your appointment time as soon as your room is ready in order to minimize your risk!”

A year and a half later I am so pleased to see that they are still being so careful.
