Dr. Hu and the entire large clinical team have consistently worn masks (large surgical type) upon request. They only needed to be asked once, and they all continue to wear masks in a perfectly professional and respectful manner, during every single one of my frequent visits.
Never once have any of them made a single disrespectful or unprofessional comment, or even made a single judgmental facial expression about masks. I have never needed to remind a single clinical person of my request that they mask while in the room with me.
Furthermore, this is a very large eye clinic, and the medical technicians go out of their way to document the request for masks to be worn for this patient, and proactively alert the other health care workers to wear a mask before entering the room with this masked patient.
The health care workers at this academic medical center are highly professional, scientifically oriented, and very young. They are not pressed for time as many are in ‘For Profit’ facilities, and they are patient, kind, and excellent verbal communicators. Almost all of them appear to be in their 20’s and 30’s.
However, once they are finished working with the masked patient, they often do remove their mask to return to their normal activities with the mostly unmasked other patients.
