Covid-Safe Retinal Specialists in the California Bay Area: West Coast Retina

West Coast Retina has been submitted as a Covid-safe provider of ophthalmic retinal care in the California Bay area, including San Francisco, Oakland, Walnut Creek, San Mateo, and Corte Madera. Here’s why West Coast Retina has been recommended as a Covid-safe provider of retinal eye care services.

The person who submitted West Coast Retina specifically recommended the San Francisco office, saying that “They have other offices in the Bay Area; not sure if they all require masks, but the SF one did for all staff and patients! Dr. wore N95 when requested in advance.”

It turns out that Covid information is featured front and center on the home page of the West Coast Retina website, and that information was updated in May, 2023, so we assume that it applies to all of their locations (but as always, call ahead to confirm). CDC guidelines recommend continued use of masks for all persons when inside a healthcare facility such as a hospital, lab, or doctor’s office. The international outbreak of the novel corona virus COVID-19 has required all of us to alter our lives. Our office and office staff have taken extraordinary precautions during this time to ensure the utmost in safety. In order to protect our patients and staff, we do ask that ANY person that has travelled outside the country in the last 2 weeks, or is sick, or feels that they might be ill with cold symptoms, cough, lung congestion or fever DO NOT COME TO YOUR VISIT BUT CALL AND RESCHEDULE.

If you feel that you might have been exposed to someone who is ill, but you are not experiencing any symptoms, it is best to reschedule if possible. If you have an urgent problem, please call our office and discuss so that we can make special arrangements for your care. Please know that we are taking extra precautions to clean our exam rooms between patients to ensure the health of our patients and staff.
