Sanitas Family Dentistry has been recommended as a Covid-safe dentist in Boulder, Colorado. Here’s why Sanitas Family Dentistry has been recommended.
Among other things they have installed the iWave office filtration system and have standing air filtration machines in each room.
While they have changed some of their Covid protocols recently, and so no longer do everything that they have listed here, their office manager says that “We still use the iWave office filtration system and have standing air filtration machines in each room.” While patients are no longer required to wait in their cars, patients are welcome to stay in their car and text the office when they arrive. Finally, while wearing masks is now optional for patients, their clinical staff “continue to wear masks and PPE,”, and the office manager is the only one at the front desk, and if you ask, she says that “she is happy to wear a mask!”

I am really grateful that they are still taking any precautions at all, as I feel it is very rare nowadays to find anyone who is. There are still standalone HEPA filters in each room, and weather-permitting they always open a window for me (without me even having to ask). I believe that they mostly wear surgical masks these days, however there is a note in my file that I am covid-cautious, and because of this they always wear N-95 masks around me. Everyone in the office is super kind, caring, and empathetic, and I feel like them going above and beyond (wearing N-95s and opening windows specifically for me) just makes them the best. Highly recommended!
I visited the office and there is no masking requirement in the waiting room or the rest of the building, and the receptionists were unmasked. There is a door between the waiting room and the clinical area and all staff in the clinical area were masked without exception (KN95 or better as far as I could tell). There were no doors on the individual exam areas so shared air was circulating throughout the entire clinical treatment section, but there were HEPA air cleaners in each patient exam area. I didn’t see any open windows and can’t speak to the HVAC system in the building or other sources of ventilation.
(Also, the office is on the second floor and there’s a sign saying the elevator may only be used by patients of the dermatology practice on that floor, plus the elevator was not working when I was there anyway–possibly because the dermatologist wasn’t in?–so if you have difficulty with stairs, this practice is not particularly accessible.)
Recently switched to them in the last few months after our longtime dentists dropped all mitigations. Small office, incredibly kind and understanding, very patient with my kids as well. I feel grateful they are still taking precautions to this level and their quality of care and follow up is top notch.
